Introducing LinkedIn Thought Leader Ads: Boosting Authenticity and Reach

LinkedIn is launching Thought Leader Ads, a new advertising format designed to enhance brand engagement and humanize companies. With Thought Leader Ads, advertisers can promote individual employee posts directly from their company page, leveraging the authenticity and credibility of their team members. This is the first time we see profiles that can post ads.

By using Thought Leader Ads, you can amplify content from your company’s executives and employees, increasing your reach and meeting your brand goals. These ads utilize authentic employee experiences to keep your content engaging and relevant.

Tip: Remember that Thought Leader Ads support the objective types of Brand Awareness and Engagement, and the ad format must be a single image ad.

Obs: To ensure quality, only verified members can have their posts boosted. Verification requires listing the company as an active and current job in their LinkedIn profile.

Advertisers must also have direct sponsored content (DSC) poster permission approved for the relevant company page.

You can easily identify an ad as it follows the format we are accustomed to. It will display the visual cue of “Sponsored by [company name]” prominently at the top, just like we are familiar with seeing “promoted” labels. This clear visual indication will help you recognize the advertisement.

I am excitedly anticipating the arrival of this format, which has been a topic of discussion in META for quite some time. When used thoughtfully and in conjunction with organic and traditional paid activities, it has the potential to provide companies with a valuable tool to comprehend and strike a balance between paid promotions, organic reach, and the growing concept of paid Thought Leadership.
