In social media marketing, it is widely acknowledged that posting organic content is a crucial component of staying top-of-mind with your target audience.

On LinkedIn, in particular, the value of organic posts cannot be overstated, as they can positively impact your reach and engagement levels. Are you running sponsored content at the same time, it is important to have fresh and relevant content on your Company Page. Simply, cause if your audience clicks on your ad and ends on your Company Page the last thing you want is to send them to a Company Page filled with outdated content from months ago. In this context, it is important to consider utilizing a feature that many LinkedIn Page admins may already be familiar with – the ability to schedule posts. We know the feature from other platforms.

I have been working with LinkedIn Marketing Solutions for many years and often I see companies end up creating organic content for LinkedIn as the last thing on a long list of priorities. It’s easy to see why – creating and curating fresh, engaging content can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. But the reality is that neglecting your organic content can be detrimental to your overall digital marketing efforts. By planning and scheduling your posts in advance, you can ensure that your Company Page is consistently updated with fresh, relevant content – without it having to be a daily struggle.

What to know before getting started

As a Page’s super or content administrator, you possess the capability to schedule posts and newsletter articles to be published at a predetermined date and time. It is essential to note that scheduling a post can be done up to three months in advance, with a minimum notice period of one hour. Once scheduled, the content cannot be edited; however, it is possible to reschedule or delete the post if required.

It is vital to recognize that scheduling a post is currently exclusively available on desktop and iOS platforms. Nonetheless, you are capable of viewing, rescheduling, or deleting posts scheduled by other administrators. If an administrator is removed from the Page, any scheduled posts they have created will be transferred to the individual who performed the removal.

It is important to bear in mind that scheduled posts cannot be promoted through Campaign Manager’s Browse Existing Content feature until after they have been published to the Page. Therefore, if you intend to use a scheduled post in a paid promotion, it is advisable to schedule it well in advance.

Tip: You can always delete a rescheduled post – if you set the date or time wrong you can reschedule the post instead of deleting it.
